Winter Hula & Hawaiian Culture Retreat
with Kumu Hula Pele Kaio & Kumu Hula Andrea Luchese
February 12–14, 2027 · Greensprings Inn & Cabins
This special retreat is being offered for the first time since 2019 and weʻre excited to bring Kumu Hula Pele Kaio, kumu of Unulau and Hālau o Lilinoe, together with Kumu Andrea, of Hālau Hula Ka Piʻo O Ke Ānuenue to create an immersive experience in hula and ʻike Hawaiʻi. This special opportunity allows us to deepen our practice and knowledge of hula and Hawaiian culture, while being free of the responsibilities and distractions of everyday life. Weʻll be immersed in nature, surrounded by the beauty and biodiversity of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, where the Cascades, Siskiyous, and Klamath Mountains converge.
Classes will include: oli (chant), hula kahiko (traditional, ancient style), hula 'auana (modern style), and mo’olelo (“talk story” sessions). Students with all levels of experience and ability (including beginners) can attend.

Where We're Staying
We've reserved seven private cabins at Greensprings Inn & Cabins for our weekend together. Each cabin comfortably sleeps up to six, with a full kitchen, a jacuzzi tub on an outdoor deck, a woodstove, a large bathroom, a gas BBQ, and a cozy sleeping loft. Bedding includes a king bed in its own room with a door, a double or queen bed in the loft, and a double pull-out couch in the living room.
Rooming is up to you — gather your own group of hula sisters (or brothers!) and let us know who you'd like to share a cabin with on your registration form. If you'd like to share a cabin but don't have a group yet, just let Kumu know and she'll help find you a spot.
Prefer more privacy? A couple of rooms at the Inn itself are available to book on your own: Room 7 has two queen beds, and Room 8 has one king bed. Both include a full bath, microwave, coffee-maker, and fridge. Just note that the Inn's restaurant will not be open during our stay.
Space is limited, so cabins and spots are held on a first-come, first-served basis — we encourage you to register early to secure your place.
What It Costs
Tuition is offered on a sliding scale of $165–$195 — please pay what you're able within that range. Tuition covers all classes and sessions for the weekend, and is separate from lodging and food.
Lodging is $695 per cabin for the two nights, split among however many people share it:
People Per Cabin Cost per Person
1...................................................$695.00
2..................................................$347.50
3..................................................$231.67
4..................................................$173.75
5..................................................$139.00
6..................................................$115.83
Food
The Inn's restaurant isn't open during our stay, so you're responsible for your own meals — each cabin's full kitchen makes that easy. We will offer one catered dinner together on Saturday night for an additional $30 per person, so you can look forward to at least one shared meal without having to cook.
Payment Schedule
Space is limited. Please confirm your spot early. Getting your spot confirmed happens in two steps:
-
By December 6, 2026 — a $100 non-refundable tuition deposit, plus your share of a 50% non-refundable lodging deposit.
-
By January 6, 2027 — the remaining balance for both tuition and lodging.
A deposit holds your space; full payment confirms it.
How to Pay
-
Tuition (deposit and balance) is paid to Integral Dance — either in cash or by check (given to Tia or Lisa in class), or online (Pay button coming soon).
-
Lodging is paid to Kapiʻoanuenue, by check. Since lodging is billed per cabin rather than per person, each cabin group should choose one person to collect everyone's share and submit it as a single check — both for the deposit and again for the balance.
